Are you a school, library, or book club and want to chat with me after you’ve read one of my books? I love connecting with readers on Skype!
If you’d like to connect, there are several options:
- A Q&A visit (free): You’ve got questions? I’ve got answers! These casual visits typically last 20 minutes, readers are encouraged to come prepared with questions they’ve brainstormed in advance.
One Hour Visits
The Writing Zoo with Jess Keating! ($200)
What can a dung beetle teach us about writing, reading, and creativity? Or a skunk? Or even a blobfish? With wild examples from zoologist-turned-author Jess Keating, young readers learn about the fun, often messy work of creating stories, writing books, and being a story explorer. Hear some wild and funny stories, learn the tools to tell your own, and check out some of Jess’s animal skull and bone collection, too! This visit also includes pre and post-visit discussion material for you to share with your readers.
“Shark Bites: The Official Shark Lady Visit with Jess Keating!” ($200)
Can’t get enough sharks? This visit is tailored for readers of Shark Lady, and is chock full of fascinating shark science and my top creativity tips. Not only will I read the whole book with them, I will also share behind-the-scene insights about the book (and my own history as a zoologist), the importance of perseverance, as well as some of the amazing lessons that real-life shark species can teach us about creativity. What can a hammerhead shark teach us about writing? You’ll find out in this fun presentation!
To arrange any of these options, email me at jesskeatingbooks (at) gmail (dot) com and we’ll work out a time that works!
