I’ve toyed with this idea for awhile (since fitting so much nerdy science into 140 characters can be difficult at times), and I’ve finally found an interface I LOVE. So here we go!

Most of you are probably familiar with my #KeatingCreature hashtag, where I yak about cool animals and general get my nerd on about science stuff. The new Keating Creature newsletter will be an extension of this! Only much easier to read and follow, and I can expand upon these topics as we need to.

I’m writing them with teachers and students in mind (though ANY person with a curious mind can join in!), so they will all be classroom-friendly, and include fun stuff like glossaries, pictures, links for more research and other tidbits. I’ll try to pick one awesome topic per newsletter, focusing on science education and zoology! If you guys have any suggestions for future issues, drop me a line here or on Twitter!

I will also be collecting all of them in the tab above (newsletters!), so you can go through them as you like.

The first issue is up now! And with my book HOW TO OUTRUN A CROCODILE WHEN YOUR SHOES ARE UNTIED coming out in—yikes, just over a month—I thought what better place to start than with CROCS. Or, more specifically, CROCS VS GATORS. How can you tell the difference between them? Today is your lucky day. If you enjoy it, I’d love if you would help share it to spread the word!

  1. Your newsletter looks awesome! Next time I go to a zoo, I’ll test my new skills and try to figure out if I’m looking at a crocodile or an alligator. I can see how this could be used in a classroom. Great job!!
